Frequently Asked Questions
What do CyberMath classes cover?
Our classes emphasize mathematical reasoning, proof-writing, and real-world applications. We balance theory, computation, examples, and applications. In addition to advanced mathematics, we offer a dedicated AI & Machine Learning track at all locations, blending cutting-edge computational thinking with hands-on problem-solving.
Are there any age limits?
No lower age limits. Students may enroll in Advanced Middle School Math if not yet started high school, and Advanced High School Math if not yet enrolled in college. Past students include 5th graders in High School Math and 3rd graders in Middle School Math.
How do placement exams work?
Two-exam series: Middle School Exam (pre-algebra through 8th grade math) and High School Exam (Algebra 2 / Integrated Math 3). 8th grade and below start at Middle School Foundations; high scores may qualify for High School courses. 9th–12th graders start at High School Foundations; high scores may qualify for High School Mastery.
What if I’m not happy with my course placement?
Contact us at [email protected]. General policy: students remain in assigned courses for 3–4 days before switching, with exceptions considered case-by-case.
Does CyberMath provide grades and certificates?
Yes. Letter grades (A–F) with instructor comments. Certificate of Completion for all students. Certificate of Mastery for grades B or higher. Passed/Not Passed option available upon request.
Can instructors write recommendation letters?
Case-by-case basis for students with A- or higher, active participation, and academic integrity. Two weeks’ notice required.
What are prerequisites for High School courses?
High School Foundations: Score ≥70 on Middle School Exam, or B+ in previous Middle School Foundations, or SAT Math ≥700, ACT Math ≥30, AMC 8 ≥15, AMC 10 ≥60, or MATHCOUNTS State qualifier.
High School Mastery: Score ≥70 on High School Exam, or B+ in previous High School Foundations, or AP Calculus ≥3, IB Math HL ≥5, AMC 10 ≥90, AMC 12 ≥75, or SAT Math Level 2 ≥750.
What is the social atmosphere like?
Students collaborate on challenging problems, chat, play sports, and bond during outdoor activities and field trips. International community of motivated learners.
What daily activities are offered outside of classes?
Bowling, museum visits, chaperoned free time, and location-specific tours: Boston’s Freedom Trail, Silicon Valley tech company tours, Oxford’s historic landmarks.
Is there an AI & Machine Learning track?
Yes – available at all three locations. Integrates computational thinking and real-world AI applications into the math curriculum. No prior experience required.
What makes CyberMath different from other summer math camps?
Most summer math camps offer either competition training or generic enrichment. CyberMath is different:
✅ Faculty: Our instructors are IMO medalists and active AI researchers — they don’t just teach, they mentor.
✅ Curriculum: We’re the only program integrating advanced mathematics with a full AI/Machine Learning track. Students prove theorems in the morning and implement neural networks in the afternoon.
✅ Locations: Classes at Harvard Faculty Club, Stanford-area Menlo College, and historic St Edward’s Oxford — not anonymous conference rooms.
✅ Community: Selective admissions bring together motivated peers from around the world. Many friendships last a lifetime.
✅ Results: Our alumni consistently gain admission to Ivy League and top-tier universities, with recommendation letters from world-class faculty.
